Jenn Gallo

​Jenn Gallo, MPH: Teaching Artist (Dance and Fiber Art)

Jen is a choreographer, performer and fiber artist from Staten Island. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Public Health in 2017 from the CUNY School of Public Health with a focus on Community Health Education, and before that with a BA in Anthropology and Women’s Studies from the University of Delaware in 2008. She has a background in teaching yoga and incorporates mindfulness practices as well as health topics in her art and performances. She choreographed for and performed in a collaborative dance piece in the 2020 Porch Plays at Snug Harbor, in the 2021 Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre production of Timon of Athens, and in the 2021 Women’s Playwright Collective’s Not Forgotten Play Festival. For the past four years she’s been focused on macrame and other fiber arts to create functional items like waterbottle and plant holders, decorative items like wall hangings, and costume/ set pieces for her performances. Jen loves crafts and unconventional story-telling and is excited to share that passion with students!
