Jessica N. Maldonado

 ​Jessica N. Maldonado: LMSW, Director of Special Projects, Teaching Artist

Jessica is a bilingual born and raised Staten Islander who has always had a love for performing and expressing herself through singing, acting and dancing. She is now overseeing IlluminArt’s 2 newest programs: Arts Empowerment and Language Access. Jessica has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Art. She went on to receive a Masters of Social Work at the College of Staten Island in 2018. She has been a social work intern at Lavelle Preparatory Charter School and Samaritan Daytop Village. While an undergraduate,  Jessica appeared as a Touring Company member in Peace Up, Truth in Excess, and Sometimes I Just Want Ice Cream, while also assistant teaching IlluminArt’s Write-A-Play enrichment programs.  She is happy to be combining  her passions for theatre, social work, and working with children. Jessica is enthusiastic about working with her incredible colleagues and children to provide a platform for their imaginations to run wild while also aiming to impart some useful life values such as how to express oneself in a healthy way, cultural competence, humility, diversity and having great fun while doing so!
