IlluminArt Productions’ programming is available to public and private schools
(K-12), community organizations, and senior centers.

Programs vary in length from 12 to 20 weeks, culminating with a performance, showcase, or exhibit at the conclusion.

Our Signature Program - Write-A-Play

IlluminArt’s Write-A-Play program can be conducted with students of any age. It provides an introduction to playwriting. The various activities provided by the Write-A-Play program are designed not only to be a unique learning experience, but also to provide the opportunity for students to exhibit understanding through exploration, communication, and expression that is not always possible within the daily routine and classroom setting.

  • Over a 12-20 week period, students learn the elements of a play – setting, characters, conflict, and dialogue.
  • They write plays as a group in collaboration with one another, learn acting and stage techniques, and perform.
  • In keeping with IlluminArt’s mission to educate and enlighten, topics incorporated into scenes focus on social, emotional, and character-building such as self-awareness, self-management, interpersonal skills, positive life skills, and character traits.
  • The short plays are then combined with songs and dances that delight and impress their peers, family, and friends.

Senior Boomers Ensemble

lluminArt Teaching Artists love working with senior adults to bring out their inner artists and hidden talents! Senior Boomers Ensemble (currently at the JCC) can happen at any center. Participants can either rehearse and perform an already written show or tell stories about their lives and write them into scenes, visual arts, poetry, giving them a voice.
