Ariel Marcus-Hollenbeck: MFA, Producing Artistic Director

Ariel (she/her) has been a member of IlluminArt’s Touring Company since its inception in 2013 and is the second Artistic Director of IlluminArt Productions. In addition, she has been a teaching artist for our Create-A-Play and was the Touring Company Stage Manager for the 2017-18 season. Ariel has her MFA in Performing Arts Management from CUNY Brooklyn and a BA in Theater and Graphic Design from Oswego State University of New York.

Ariel has been fortunate to work on many levels in theatre, including starting IlluminArt’s Theatre for Young Audiences Season, which allows families to enjoy theatre within their local community. Festival Director of the “Women’s Playwright Collective,” Directing credits: “A Year With Frog and Toad” (IlluminArt Theatre for Young Audience Show), her original play “Mind The Light” (a reimagining of the lighthouse keeper Katie Walker), “Timon of Athens” (SI Shakespeare) and “Blithe Spirit” (Ghostlight Players). Favorite Performance Credits: Mrs. Peacock – CLUE the Musical (Sundog Theatre), Meredith Parker – Batboy: The Musical (Spotlight Theatre), Puck Midsummer Night’s Dream (Millbrook Playhouse, PA), Actor 3 – Nevermore – The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe (Hemlock Theatre), and Norwegian Cruise Line contracted with Nickelodeon.
