Rasheeda L. Johnson: Teaching Artist (Mural Making, General Art, Fashion)

Rasheeda L. Johnson (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY. A scholarship to Saturday art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art in her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA, sparked her passion for visual art at a very early age, and she later landed an academic scholarship to the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she earned her degree in advertising design. Johnson went on to work in various creative fields with over 10 years as a wardrobe and art professional for the film industry and also worked as a Display Artist, designing and fabricating window and in-store displays for various retail companies. While working in these industries, Johnson freelanced as a facilitator of youth and multigenerational programs as a Teaching Artist, which she currently does for a major NYC museum. Throughout her various careers, she has always intentionally created her personal work as a Visual Artist; mainly a portrait artist, Johnson is currently working in the medium of paper sculpture. Her paintings have been featured in several group exhibitions in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Maryland, and New York City. www.AnalogArtNYC.com
